10 Years Aglow: Celebrate Big Give on Thursday March 14!
On Thursday, March 14, 2024, our incredible Cal community — alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends — are invited to participate in Big Give, UC Berkeley’s 24-hour fundraising effort.
Last year, our amazing community came together to raise $91,977 with 216 gifts in just 24-hours — wow!
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Big Give, and we're celebrating going even bigger with our Cal spirit. Join us on March 14, 2024, to celebrate our brightest Berkeley memories and dreams by giving to Berkeley IEOR — a place that has illuminated the path to meaningful, rewarding careers for so many of our alums, while fostering transformative research and discovery from our world-leading faculty and stellar students.

In celebration of International Women's Month, Cal alum Sonita Lontoh '99 is challenging the Berkeley IEOR community for Big Give 2024. Sonita will donate a remarkable $15,000 if we can secure 100 gifts to Berkeley IEOR during Big Give. Every gift matters and will help us reach our 150 goal to support the people, programs, and activities of Berkeley IEOR.
I have so many fond memories from my time at Berkeley. From the friendships I forged to the inspiring classes led by our dedicated professors. One invaluable lesson Cal taught me was the power of a growth mindset—embracing challenges and valuing diverse viewpoints. This mindset has been a key driver in my journey, sparking innovation, fostering teamwork, and building resilience.

"As a professor of Berkeley IEOR for 20 years (and an alum!), one of the most rewarding aspects of my work is the chance to mentor and interact with exceptional students. Their contributions to the research produced at UC Berkeley are invaluable. Meanwhile, undergraduate enrollment in IEOR courses has increased by over 150% in recent years. Students who serve as Graduate Student Instructors (GSI), Graduate Student Researchers (GSR), Readers, and Tutors provide crucial support to our undergraduate students and help our programs succeed.
