JOB PURPOSE:

 

This role is known for driving the organizations long-range and strategic planning process, business development and strategy execution and communication to key partners and stakeholders. This role plays a key part in the support and growth journey of the company and will support the SVP Strategy lead enterprise strategic planning and will identify growth and innovation opportunities.

Job Contributions- what will you do

 

Leadership

  • Takes a lead role in area of expertise contributing to the grown and innovation across the business
  • Act as a mentor to the team, execute and complete assigned projects within time, scope and budget
  • Provide expert level thought leadership in the development of the function
  • Mobilize and manage leaders and teams charged with executing strategies, monitor the execution of the strategic plan, and act as a resource across the organization to increase broad cohesion for strategic plans
  • Ability to lead and architect multiple engagements
  • Drive large business initiatives from concept to completion
  • Take individual ownership of the execution for certain critical corporate strategic initiatives
  • Provide strategic support, analytical guidance and thought partnership for functional leaders across the organization

Long Range and Strategic Planning

  • Support long-range and strategic planning process
  • Take responsibility for developing and delivering the strategic planning approach
  • Align long-term corporate strategy with business unit strategy
  • Translate long-term priorities into near-term initiatives
  • Develop core car rental growth and improvement strategy
  • Develop business model innovation strategy
  • Implement capability development and strategy effectiveness tracking
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to gather facts, conduct analysis, and translate data into meaningful insights

Business Development & Strategy Execution

  • Tackle specific business opportunities where appropriate
  • Contribute to growth and innovation across the business taking a lead role in area of expertise
  • Identify and manage stakeholders up to top management level, exploring their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions
  • Undertake strategic and tactical risk modeling and scenario planning for business-critical decisions to support business strategy and to identify and mitigate risk in line with the risk appetite

Communication

  • Demonstrate value and foster strategic dialogue
  • Forge relationships with key functional leadership to ensure strategic initiatives are highly visible and well-understood throughout the company
  • Build inclusive and collaborate process and relationships with all senior leaders
  • Motivate others to commit to actions and achieve the organization’s business goals
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and be able to translate needs into solutions
  • Ensure that strategic initiatives have clear ownership and accountability

Strategy

  • Develop meaningful insights and recommendations through data driven analysis to help solve the company’s most challenging problems
  • Frame impactful options to address strategic issues and ultimately establish well-supported solutions with specific recommendations that will enable the executive team to make critical decisions
  • Focus on identifying the right initiatives, with EBITDA and target setting a downstream process from planning
  • Have a clear perspective on adjacencies, including M&A
  • Challenge norms on how things have always been done
  • Contribute to growth and innovation across the business
  • Provide research and impact analysis on important strategic topics including competitive strategy and disruptive trends
  • Design prototypes and proofs of concepts that best fit the business needs

Essential Requirements

Experience and Qualifications 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required; MBA strongly preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a team and align across organization
  • Expert at developing and delivering presentations
  • Ability to build credibility and trust
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Capable of interacting directly and effectively with Senior and Executive leadership
