About Us
Membrion makes recovering water worth every drop. We work with industrial water users who are committed to a better way of reclaiming water and who wish for new solutions that can recover more water, more economically, but know membranes aren’t improving enough to meet emerging internal and external requirements. Therefore, we’ve created a unique, flexible & cost-effective ceramic ion exchange membrane that can be dropped into current industrial water treatment systems and enable companies to meet increasing demands for resource conservation. Their opportunity flows through us.

Job Description
Membrion is looking for dynamic engineering and science students who are highly motivated, creative problem solvers and exceptionally organized to help us lay the groundwork for exciting new projects.
We’re looking for fast learners who will hit the ground running and are eager to learn how to develop paths to success under ambiguous circumstances. Applicants should have experience juggling time and resources to run multiple experiments simultaneously. We’re looking for someone who thrives at being a vital member of a small team. The ideal candidate will be able to visualize a final process and break down the complexity into individual addressable steps and then experimentally validate their decisions.
As a start-up team member, you’ll have the opportunity to partake in a variety of activities including: optimizing product performance, product and manufacturing cost analysis, development of quality control metrics and testing, operating and repairing equipment, developing and carrying out standard operating procedures, creating and implementing safety plans, and organizing and compiling research data. We do a little bit of everything; perfect for students trying to figure out what type of engineering or research activities they enjoy most.
From a practical standpoint, we’ll likely take 2-3 interns who will are current Juniors or Seniors or are pursing an advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or Chemistry. Prior laboratory-based R&D or production experience is highly valued. Candidates must have a GPA > 2.5, but work ethic and problem-solving skills are more critical than grades. We strongly encourage groups that are historically underrepresented in science and engineering to apply. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with high ethical standards that wants to help build a company that does good for the world around us.
Note: though the duration listed on this job is 5/15-8/31, it is a ~10 week internship with a start date that best fits your schedule.
