JOB TITLE: Research and Development Associate

SALARY: $61,000 – $75,000 per year

RESPONSIBLE TO: Development Manager


– Conduct enzyme immunoassay (EIA) research and handle development projects to obtain FDA 510(k) clearance and CLIA categorizations to bring new products to market

* Additional duties may be added as the need arises


– Prepare drug conjugates for immunoassay development

– Conduct immunoassay optimizations

– Proficiently work on a variety of clinical analyzers

– Analyze and interpret data; record methods and results using good documentation practices

– Prepare and present technical data summaries for design review and regulatory submission

– Present and explain project results at team and project meetings

– Effectively organize, prioritize, and plan experiment/work schedule

– Assist in the transfer of completed development projects to Production

– Participate in, and provide support to, Production team through hands-on troubleshooting and regular communication

– M.S. or Ph.D. in biology or chemistry related field or equivalent (2+ years of R&D laboratory experience)

– Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

– Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills

– Detail oriented, excellent organizational and documentation behavior

– Proficient with Internet/e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs are required

– Able to work in a cold room periodically, which is kept at 2 – 8°C (35.6 – 46.4°F)

* After hiring, required to provide a vaccination record and confirm current Hepatitis B status and COVID-19 vaccination status


– Knowledge and experience with immunoassay research


– All candidates must give a brief PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation detailing their graduate level thesis work and/or R&D laboratory research

– 25-30 minute presentation, 10-15 minute Q&A (Total: 35-45 minutes)
