Announcement about hiring affected under COVID-19

Along with many other countries, Japan has been expanding a travel ban into Japan and visa restrictions in line with the Japanese government’s decision to declare a state of emergency in several prefectures. Since the declaration, it has been much more difficult for overseas students without a Japanese working visa to seek opportunities to participate in an internship program in Japan.

We are trying our best to minimize the impact, always believe that this is one of our most important mission to provide excellent quality of internship program for all students around the world equally.

However, we might be unable to provide the normal hiring process with all candidates at this moment. Given the uncertainty of the situation, we highly appreciate your understanding that we will be prioritizing applicants with valid working visas in Japan to ensure a smooth hiring experience. Please note that we surely are maintaining open this channel to all candidates and will monitor the situation in order to adjust our policies as circumstances change.

Description

As a software developer, you will work in a dynamic and evolving environment following the strategic direction of KPMG Japan. You will develop, maintain and improve systems to meet particular needs, often as advised by systems architects. You will also do testing, test automation, and bug fixing. Our team develops digital solutions which involve cutting-edge technology such as NLP, Machine Learning, OCR, Blockchain, IoT, etc.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Analyzing user requirements of the software system

• Writing, testing, and improving code

• Continually updating technical knowledge and skills

Required Experiences/Skills

• Knowledge and experience (work/hobby) in developing cutting-edge technical solutions.

• In-depth knowledge and experience (work/hobby) in back-end and front-end development.

• Being able to translate architecture designs into well-structured, tested, and documented source code.

• Good working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and database technologies.

• Familiarity with programming languages is a strong plus, such as Java, Scala, Clojure, C++, C#, Swift, Python.

• Experience working with teams with Agile/Lean approaches.

Language Skills

• Business or higher level of English communication skills.

• Japanese communication skills are helpful but not necessary.

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Be passionate about discovering and applying new technologies, ideas and unique solutions to complex and transformational business problems.

• Be creative, yet disciplined in their approach and constantly engaged in learning new things to support the transformation agenda.

• Have a high level of discipline and a structured approach for documenting and managing own work (and teams work for managerial positions.)

• Be a self-motivator and possess the communication skills and character to constantly engage with a fast-paced, always-changing team.

***Starting date is negotiable but the term should between 6-8 months***

<Important Notice>

Currently, we are closing this position and will open AFTER June 2021.

Please note that your starting date will be after July at the earliest.

Also, please be aware that currently the visa process is stopped due to the pandemic. If you are not a Japanese citizen nor a permanent resident in Japan, you may not be able to join us as your expecting time. 

We currently do not offer any remote internship program for overseas students.

Compensation and Benefit

We offer visa application support, flights for On/Off-Boarding, and Housing.

Health insurance will be provided while you are in Japan.

*You have to get a supporting letter from your university to apply working visa.

Process after your application

You will be contacted by our recruiter in 2 business days after your application.

It normally takes 2 and up weeks for a whole process.

A process will be:

1. CV Screening by HR and hiring department

2. 1st interview via Microsoft Teams – 30min

    (This would be more technical. You will be asked some technical questions. )

3. 2nd interview via Teams – 30min

    (This would be both technical and behavioral.)

4. Offer
