CastleOak’s finance group is a small, high performing team that recently separated out from our Operations team. As the company continues to grow, the finance team is as the forefront of establishing reporting, budgeting, and value-add insights to the business and to senior management. The team is responsible for a wide variety of deliverables and touches all parts of the business, ensuring high visibility and the chance to round out a broad skill set. We are looking for an individual to fill our newly created Finance Analyst role. The team currently consist of two people: the head of the team and a Senior Vice President, who will both be invested in teaching and mentoring this person. The analyst will round out the team and have a front row seat to the inner workings of a boutique investment bank.  

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist in annual/monthly financial statement preparation
  • Prepare and post month end journal entries
  • Perform month end general ledger account reconciliations
  • Prepare month end work papers
  • Perform month end bank reconciliations
  • Accounts payable invoicing and expense processing
  • Accounts receivable tracking
  • Perform various accounting, administrative and other related ad hoc requests

Required Qualifications (please do not apply if you do not meet all of these, especially the required experience):

  • BA in Accounting/Finance
  • Understanding of GAAP standards and accounting principles
  • 4-6 years’ experience in the industry 
  • Strong Skills in Excel and other Microsoft platforms
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Aptitude to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Unsurpassed integrity and trustworthiness

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working towards or has an interest in becoming a CPA
  • Broker dealer experience a plus
  • FINRA knowledgeable a plus
  • Audit experience a plus

Location:

  • New York, NY (please note that we are working in a hybrid model with employees coming into the office three times a week)
