The Health, Safety, Environment, Security (HSES) Department is looking for an intern to assist with multiple projects to help improve our world-class occupational safety and environmental programs. The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in how occupational health, safety, and environmental programs are managed in the private sector to protect workers and the environment. The primary responsibilities of this role, Environmental, Health and Safety (HSE), are to:  Perform both office and field work;Use of automated means to take database information in csv format to created files of specific sizes in Excel, for upload into a State database;Research chemical properties, add the information to an internal database;Conduct field surveys of hazardous materials, compare the information found in laboratory, maintenance, and warehouse storage areas to Bayer’s internal database;Correct discrepancies;Assist HSES staff as needed with continuous improvement projects for other occupational health, safety, and environmental programs. WHO YOU ARE Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program; wth a focus in Math, Science or engineering;Be a full-time continuing student (i.e. enrolled in school for the next term – Not Graduating in Spring 2021);Strong verbal and written communication skills;Able to seek guidance from online or written sources to complete projects;Ability to deal professionally with internal customers of various organizational levels;Ability to work effectively within a departmental team and with members of the same or higher organizational levels;Excellent organization, documentation, prioritization and scheduling skills together with an overall desire to learn;Basic problem solving and project management abilities together with a professional image;Ability to work independently and multi-task;Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office with intermediate level proficiency with Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced skills with Excel, use of pivot tables, automated spreadsheets;Focus in computers, chemistry, physics, biological sciences, environmental sciences, engineering or similar field. Your applicationBayer offers a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
