The English Learner Services Director (General) will:
- Maintain Managers and Teachers on Special Assignment (TSAs) to provide support to teachers, leaders, and EL students at every site.
- Support site leaders to implement, monitor, and provide feedback on district level Professional Learning to teachers for implementation of integrated and designated English Language Development (ELD).
- Assist each school’s EL Site Representative (designated person on each school site who oversees EL activities) to comply with all state and federal requirements, support instruction, and ensure site-based professional learning for English learners.
- Support expanded interventions (Winter Session, Summer Session and After School Programs) to EL students including Long Term English learners (LTEL) (English Learner students that have attended a U.S. school for more than 6 years without being reclassified and is at least in the 5th grade) and At-Risk English Learners (English learner students who have attended a U.S. school for 4 to 5 years without being reclassified).
- Support newcomer EL to acquire English Language proficiency at the rate of one English language proficiency level per year and to make timely academic progress.
- Support expansion of Dual Language Immersion programs.
- Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration or related experience in area of specialty and five years increasingly responsible supervisory and/or management experience.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Valid California Administrative Services Credential and/or Teacher’s Credential may be required based on assignments and/or area(s) of responsibility.
