The Business Operations team at CBS Interactive works in partnership with business stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations about site and product performance in order to drive user growth, engagement and revenue opportunities. This position will support the 247 Sports, Comicbook.com and PopCulture.com brands which fall under the CBS Interactive Division. These brands are on the forefront of providing first class user content in their respective areas.
Role Details:
We are in search of an Associate Research Market Analyst who can partner with stakeholders focusing on key areas to maximize the chances of user growth, quality engagement and profitability. You will need to be comfortable gathering requirements, working in large datasets, querying against multiple databases and/or off-the-shelf analytics packages to arrive at insightful recommendations in addition to presenting and defending your recommendations at various levels within the organization.
Your Day-to-Day:
Define, track, and report on comprehensive business goals that drive performance and growth
Investigate site issues, explain traffic patterns, understand and articulate user behavior
Present findings and recommendations to decision makers at various levels
Create, maintain, and improve process workflows
Proactively analyze traffic trends and what works/doesn’t work during certain sport seasons/ sport events
Oversee daily reports and goal tracking for multiple business units and job functions (e.g. editorial, marketing
Key Projects:
Work with business analytics to build and send reports that track key goals and monitor core business health
Work with Ad Operations and Circulation (Subscription Sales) on evaluating marketing opportunities to improve efficiencies and increase revenues
Qualifications:
What you bring to the team:
You have –
BA/BS in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Marketing, and/or Business
Strong strategic and analytical ability
Proficiency using excel – creating pivot tables and other data organization and graphing techniques
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and present data and information
Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
Ability to build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams
You might also have –
Experience with Adobe Analytics/Omniture
Experience using SQL
Experience working in the tech or media industry preferred
Experience in editorial, SEO and social analytics
