Support existing analytics team with new and existing strategic analytics projects. Intern will be expected to use problem solving skills to perform research and analysis on a wide variety of topics. Professional communication skills are needed to present information concisely, accurately, and in many formats, often with quick turnaround times. Experience with Microsoft Products is essential. Additionally, the intern will be expected to alternate between analytical and creative job tasks to accomplish the assigned projects.
This position will report directly to the Assistant Controller of Analytics and be an integral member of the small but specialized analytics team. This position will give the intern exposure to data processes; potential revenues, expenses, and synergies of different business opportunities; research, analysis, and presentation of business-related data; due diligence best practices; and strategic planning.
Potential Work Projects:
The intern will work on a focused project to analyze and develop insights to impact the PPLSI business model through improving retention and lifetime value. The intern will work with various teams within PPLSI, participate in various calls and meetings, and prepare and present deliverables. This in turn will guide the intern through an entire workflow from beginning to end, and increasing intern exposure to multiple skill sets and stakeholders. Among other things, the deliverables will include preparing financial projections and similar analyses, narrative reports, presentations, process flow charts, and company or product comparisons.
1. Analysis of data:
a. Build and run queries in Sequel and Tableau
b. Identify possible errors in data
c. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly business reports
d. Develop strategy to improve results

b. Improve/Revise
c. Evaluate/Analyze
Education
Degree Programs: Business, Math, Finance, Analytics, or Economics Concentrations preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, this position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk and hear. Some travel is required for this position.
