Your role

The Chief Digital and Information Office (CDIO) Graduate Training Program (GTP) is two years long and features extensive training, networking, and mobility.

During the training program, UBS GTPs receive hands-on experience working within a world class Global Technology and Data Management organization with over 25,000 IT professionals. They gain valuable experience in the use of technologies that are highly prevalent throughout the financial services industry. As a UBS GTP you will develop and hone your skills within an established set of UBS lifecycle development methodologies and practices which are recognized for making UBS a global leader in the financial services sector. UBS CDIO is responsible for sourcing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting world-class technology solutions. We are a global organization with multiple streams that align with each of the key functional areas to ensure that our solutions meet business needs. Our professionals are engaged as business consultants, technical architects, systems integrators, application/support analysts, data managers, developers, and project managers.

Within the GTP program, these are the potential roles in which you may be placed:

Your team

1. Technology Engineer:

Tech Engineers are responsible for designing, evaluating, planning, developing, integrating, testing, deploying and supporting technical solutions. These solutions leverage both the reuse of existing and development of new technologies while driving towards common global solutions. Tech Engineers are responsible for working with production teams to provide a stable and secure environment that ensures production stability, supportability and performance. The role supports by analyzing errors and defining and introducing corrective measures.

Key Deliverables:

-Robust, fit for purpose technical solutions that meet all bank and regulatory controls and architectural guidance

2. Data Engineer:

A Data Engineer is responsible for helping to construct, test and maintain architectures such as distributed data pipelines, event streams and databases using a varied set of technologies to deliver on business requirements. The Data Engineer needs to be proficient with the latest technologies both in the Cloud and on premise.

Key Knowledge Competencies:

-Problem Analysis

-Cloud

-Data Architecture

-Risk Management

Key Deliverables:

-Enabling multi-tenant services encompassing cluster management; security; resource and quota management; partitioning; monitoring chargeback; data governance; quality; and lineage

3. Technology Support Analyst:

A Tech Support Analyst is responsible for supporting new and existing IT products, applying knowledge, experience and alignment to the service delivery strategy to achieve desired outcomes on a timely basis. They are responsible for providing insights, knowledge and technical know-how for a broad range of products. This production support role should strive to ensure the stability and availability of the firm’s technical environment.

-Provide technical support across a wide range of products and technologies

-Contribute towards ensuring stability and availability of the firm’s production environment

4. Data Management Analyst

A Data Management Analyst identifies potential data quality issues within their area of responsibility by carrying out checks on high-risk reports, process, Master / Authoritative Sources, etc. They ensure that UBS’s data strategy and policies are communicated, implemented and enforced in their area of responsibility at the appropriate level. They also provide transparent data quality reporting to their stakeholders such as management, regulators and other internal units.

Key Deliverables:

-Provides transparency across data quality, data flows and current issues

-Works with IT and other stakeholder to improve the data quality and ensures the application of the highest standards

-Supports data owners in documenting reviewing and analyzing key data elements

5. Business Analyst / Project Manager:

A Tech Business Analyst analyses any business-related processes that include banking, organizational, application-related and other operational processes and procedures and develops proposals for change or enhancement. This role would typically be found in a project environment.

Tech Project Managers are responsible for delivering the objectives of projects that form an integral part of a program. This includes responsibility for the timely implementation of defined project objectives in line with quality standards and the budget.

Key Deliverables:

-Deliver complete, consistent and reconcile Business analysis artifacts.

-Reporting on planning, controlling and reports tasks within the project in the program and portfolio management systems

Your expertise

All candidates must be enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program, Master’s degree program or an international equivalent with a graduation date between December 2020 and June 2021. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above required.

We look for candidates with superior technical ability, proven ability to learn and to adapt rapidly, ability to grasp business concepts and apply technology for business advantage and a proven ability to excel in a high pressure team environment.

•Computer Science, Engineering, and STEM academic background preferred. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C# or C++) is required for a Technology Engineer.

•Strong communications and interpersonal skills as exhibited through extracurricular activities, internships and academic projects

•Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

•Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

•Strong initiative and ownership

•Financial Services domain exposure is an asset, but not required
