Chenyang Zhong is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his Ph.D. in Statistics from Stanford University. Before joining Berkeley, he held a faculty position in the Department of Statistics at Columbia University. His research focuses on optimal transport, generative modeling, Monte Carlo methods, variational inference, stochastic modeling, and data-driven decision-making.
