Job Summary: This one-year rotational program is designed to expose an entry-level engineer to all facets of Supply Chain Engineering. In this role, he/she will rotate through the Distribution, Non-Asset, and Transportation Engineering Departments of NFI where they will receive comprehensive technical, functional, and leadership training that will set the stage for potential accelerated career growth. In this role, he/she will work with data to design and model supply chain solutions that drive value to NFI and their customers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Validates, Cleans, and Manipulate dataMaps and documents process flowsDevelop models for supply chain design including, but not limited to network design, activity-based optimization, distribution, and inventory strategy, and cost modelingConsults customers in Supply Chain ManagementQuantifies cost trends for pricing models used to create solutions for clientsPresents internal and external solutions to NFI operations and customer leadershipAssists in knowledge transfer to customers and NFIAssists in the design and development of business toolsAssists in inventory analysisDetermines efficient utilization of resources by analyzing layouts, labor force, equipment, driver, and equipment utilization chartsApplies company methodologies and tools to design distribution/transportation operations including staffing, equipment, sizing, and layout.Apply various Lean Six Sigma ToolsExhibits a commitment to self-development by staying current on information, tools, and systemsPartner regularly with a career counselor to reflect upon experiencesBasic Requirements:Bachelor’s DegreeSignificant coursework in Supply Chain is preferred, including supply chain planning and chain designPrevious Internship/Research/Project in Supply Chain or Quantitative fieldWorking knowledge in planning, transportation, inventory management, strategic sourcing and S&OP.Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skillsExperience in preparing and presenting to internal and external leadershipWell organized with high attention to detail and accuracyExcellent analytical and mathematical skillsStrong Technical Background – demonstrated ability to learn technical skills quickly0-3 Years of experience in transportation management, dedicated fleet operations, distribution center management, materials handling, and decision support systemsTravel up to 50%Preferred Tech Skills (At least 1 of the following):Understanding of optimization and/or simulation algorithmsExperience with AutoCADExperience with Warehouse Management System (WMS)Experience with Inventory Analysis toolsExperience with Simulation SoftwareDatabase skills, especially through SQL or AccessPrevious experience with: CPLEX, XPRESS, Gurobi, Solver, Optimization Toolbox, ORtools, Scipy, or similar is a with major plusBasic knowledge in: VBA, Python, R, Matlab, Java, C++, or C# is a major plusExperience with Supply Chain Guru, Transportation Modeler, Appian Direct Route, or other supply chain modeling softwareKnowledge in forecasting/predictive analytics techniques
