Cornerstone is seeking a Sr. Director, Content Partnerships to scale our growing content partner ecosystem. This person will lead the commercial and business relationships at a senior level with Cornerstone’s most strategic content providers and be the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. This role requires industry knowledge, creativity and the willingness to roll up sleeves and work as a team with key functions in Cornerstone’s Curation, Integration, Partner Marketing, Operations & Sales teams. Reporting into the VP of Content Product, the person in this role will own the acquisition, launch, and optimization of new partners to support our evolving Content Anytime subscription model while educating and supporting those partners to ensure success in our ecosystem.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders at key content providers, including contracting, negotiation, and ongoing education around Cornerstone’s value proposition in the market
- Develop the funnel for new partnerships, working closely with Content Strategy & Curation and Integration teams to ensure new partners are aligned with our roadmap and are operationally feasible
- Understand each content provider’s strategic plans and business strategy, preparing and facilitating presentations and proposals to content partners in our funnel
- Directly supervise our growing team of Content Partner Managers, who act as the conduits between the content providers and our internal teams
- Work with Content Strategy & Curation team to identify opportunities for growth in our subscription model and acquire new partners to fill gaps and white space opportunities
- Work with Cornerstone Studios team to architect and negotiate partnerships that support innovative IP/media creation and distribution models and to target and pursue creative
- partners to collaborate on Original Series
- Work with Partner Marketing team to identify each partner’s messaging and value propositions and promote those partners to Cornerstone’s customers
- Work cross-functionally to ensure partner content is ingested and launched efficiently for Cornerstone’s customers according to contractually agreed launch plans
- Support the Content Sales team in closing business in which we resell partner offerings directly
- Possess strong industry relationships and ability “connect the dots” to identify new opportunities
Basic Requirements:
- Self-starter, self-managed, with an entrepreneurial vision
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10+ years of business development with a focus on media, education, or technology
- Prior knowledge and experience in the content/learning industry strongly preferred
- Demonstrated strategic thought process, experience, and deployment capabilities
- Strong presentation skills. Candidate must demonstrate ability to organize and lead a meeting with “C-level” executives
- Ability to travel 20%
