In the financial industry, state of the art techniques are implemented to improve model prediction accuracy. This requires research and understanding of technical architectures. In an industry with more competition and higher technical standards, it’s no wonder the top talent is choosing machine learning and quantitative research roles over typical engineering.
In this role you will work on one of two roles:
- quantitative researcher: read academic literature and summarize your understanding of artificial neural networks, especially multi-modal architectures in various data types. Of importance is a willingness to lead the research, including becoming familiar with terms such as meta learning, transformers, and embedding. This role will be largely independent with the focus on reading, discussing architectures, and summarizing discoveries.
- quantitative developer: research and extract public data sources from various online databases, including economic, text, and market data. This individual will be responsible for organizing data for researchers to access.
-Seeking degree in computer science, operations research, physics, finance, mathematics or related.
-Strong interest in machine learning.
-Familiarity with research in any type of field.
-Desire to apply and grow knowledge of financial domain.
This is an unpaid, full-time, remote summer internship. Kwantx is a startup technology firm beginning a new research branch in quantitative finance and machine learning. The firm intends to hire 5 summer interns who will work with its CEO and a supervising researcher. The firm also has 2 full time offshore team members that work in its tax product team, working with data science startups.
