Brailsford & Dunlavey is seeking a dynamic project analyst for our Washington, DC office.

From Day 1, you will have the opportunity to play an important role on high-profile projects:




  • Updating a financial model to determine the ROI on new improvements to an MLB stadium.  
  • Presenting to State leadership on the market opportunities of a stadium and mixed-use development.
  • Developing procurement documents and financial analysis guiding the optimization of arena operations.


Essential Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position is to produce analytics and resulting synthesis to inform the project team’s advisement to our clients such as, higher education institutions, municipalities, and professional sports organizations on the positioning of assets such as stadiums, arenas, intercollegiate athletics facilities, recreation centers, sports complexes, and entertainment and innovation districts, etc. to best leverage the long-term mission and vision of the organization.


The Analyst is directly responsible for:

  1. Collecting and analyzing information as directed by the Project Executive and Project Management, and
  2. Translating complicated information into meaningful recommendations for clients.


In collaboration with the Project Lead, the analyst is responsible for managing internal project team meetings and resulting strategy sessions to ensure project milestones are met. The analyst is typically the secondary management interface with the client, and is charged with effectively supporting the client relationship.


Other essential responsibilities include:

  1. Performs data collection and analysis, which includes but is not limited to, research, in-person interviews, and telephone interviews to gain market insights, leading and reporting on focus groups, and design/analyze surveys, space plans, and financial models with purpose and precision. 
  2. Creation of excel-based financial and economic impact models.
  3. Synthesizes results of analyses relevant to client context.
  4. Contributes to the development of project documents and tools to support the team’s effective storytelling and development of recommendations, as well as the decision-making of institutions.
  5. Actively engages and collaborates with internal and external contacts to support the project team in critical thinking and the development of recommendations.
  6. Participates in B&D’s business development activities to include attending conferences, writing articles, and developing relationships with potential and current clients.
  7. Participates in and seeks out professional development and coaching opportunities, including B&D’s mentor program, expanding your technical capacities for creating and analyzing financial data, improving presenting and written skills.
  8. Actively participates in team meetings, firm-wide meetings, and client meetings.
  9. Assists with quality control and client satisfaction activities specific to his/her assigned projects.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned with the effort and skills necessary to contribute to B&D’s continued growth.


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in business management, finance, real estate development, architecture, engineering, planning, construction management, or a related field.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing and able to travel (independently by car, air, or train) regularly.



Technical Competencies

  • Foundational understanding of the firm’s project types, general project management concepts and methodologies, as well as basic sports and entertainment industry knowledge.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel (beyond beginner level), Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Resourcefulness in gathering and organizing data and information.
  • Understanding of economic and real estate development principles (such as supply and demand, pro forma development, debt service, present value, return on investment, internal rate of return, etc.).
