The applicant will be responsible for leading machine assembly production and liaising with engineering. Tasks may include but are not limited to:

● Assembling sensor, drive, and stage subassemblies

● Building, calibrating, and packaging machines and accessories

● Troubleshooting, remediating, and documenting assembly issues on the line

● Directing and training assembly workers

● Planning and executing process improvements and assembly automation, including applied robotics and controls

● Communicating assembly issues and plans with design engineers

● Work closely with manufacturing engineers and other production staff

● Work closely with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineers on design for assembly requirements

Minimum Qualifications

● Proficiency with common manual and powered assembly tools

● Good mechanical aptitude and passion for building and making things

● Problem-solving ability, quick learning, and attention to detail

● Ability to multitask, work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

● Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

●Experience building complex machines involving mechanics and electrics/electronics

● General knowledge of manufacturing processes

● Knowledge of precision assemblies and calibration

● Experience or education as an engineer
