The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia invites applications for two full-time, Research Associate positions beginning January 2022 or August 2022. The Postdoctoral Research Associate (PRA) roles are made possible by a university wide Mellon Foundation Grant on Race, Place, and Equity to advance research, creative practice and teaching related to race, place and equity.  Candidates must have completed a PhD in a relevant field by the start date of the appointment and demonstrate potential for strong research in areas related to race, diversity, equity, and inclusion in a business-related discipline.

Postdoctoral Research Associate Support​

McIntire School of Commerce is committed to providing PRAs with support for research, teaching, and professional development. Each PRA will be matched with a faculty mentor who will work directly with the PRA. Faculty mentors will also assist PRAs in making connections with others in the UVA community to facilitate community engagement and additional research collaborations.  

PRAs funded under this program will be appointed for one year with an expectation of renewal for two years, contingent upon a successful annual review. In addition to salary and benefits, the program will provide a research fund allocation for each PRA.   

Requirements

Applicants must have a terminal (PhD) degree before starting the research associate role. The School specifically seeks applicants with a relevant scholarly or creative focus in race, diversity, equity and/or inclusion with applications in a business context. Areas of research may span one or more business disciplines but should focus on questions related to race, justice, equity, society, social psychology, or similar topics in commerce and/or organizations.
