The National Science Foundation (NSF) Mathematical Sciences Graduate Internship (MSGI) Program provides opportunities for mathematical sciences doctoral students to participate in internships at federal national laboratories and research facilities.

Internships may result in a virtual placement due to COVID-19 impacts.
Benefits: You will receive a stipend of $1,200 per week during the 10-week internship period. Transportation expenses for round trip travel costs up to $2,000 between the participant’s U.S. residence and the assigned internship location will be provided to participants who live more than 50 miles from the hosting facility.
U.S. citizenship is not required for participation in this program. You must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at an accredited U.S. college pursuing a doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics, or applied mathematics. First year doctoral students are eligible to apply.
