We have an immediate opening for a Researcher to join the Securities and Finance practice in our New York City office. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented programmer with a statistics and/or finance background. Our consulting teams in this practice provide expert witness work in litigation matters and undertake client advisory projects related to quantitative financial and economic analyses across several industries and markets. Representative projects include estimating damages and assessing loss causation in complex commercial litigation matters, including those that involve breach of contract, bankruptcy and fraudulent conveyance, auditor liability, and valuation of illiquid assets and businesses; analysis of class certification in disputes involving insurance products; analysis of trading strategies and alleged commodities market manipulation in derivatives-related litigation; financial regulatory research work.

Your responsibilities may include designing and building quantitative models and applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data; valuation analyses, reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing industry trends and competitor and academic research; creating trial exhibits and presentation materials; drafting memos and expert reports and participating in client meetings and conference calls. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in statistics, economics, or computer science and strong coursework and/or experience in statistical analysis/econometrics and computer programming is a must. Experience with R, Python, and SAS preferred. Qualified candidates must be detail-oriented, have the ability to think analytically and critically, and have excellent communications skills. As a qualified candidate, you should be able to demonstrate exceptional analytic skills. There is little to no travel involved with the position.
