Job Description
The Media Tech Associate Program is designed to jumpstart your career as a media technologist at NBCUniversal. Individuals interested in the intersection of media and technology will have the unique opportunity to choose from one of several tracks and experience three different rotations across our business portfolio over the course of two years.
As you rotate, you’ll learn from the best and partner with key business and technology leaders to help drive enterprise-wide initiatives. You’ll have access to the best personal and professional development opportunities, both individual and shared with your fellow Associates, to further develop your technical acumen and business-focused skillsets.

Data Engineering Track
Your responsibilities and on-the-job training will vary per rotation and give you some insight into how our business operates. As an Associate on the Data Engineering track, you will be part of changing the landscape of media – how we access it, how we use it, and how we continue to be at the forefront of creating content. You’ll be embedded in teams that design, build, and oversee the deployment and operations of technology architecture, software, and solutions.
You’ll also get a chance to develop technical tools and programming that leverages AI, machine learning, and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data and to maintain, defend, and update data structures and integrity on an automated basis. Plus, you’ll help create and establish design standards and assurance processes for software, systems, and application development to ensure compatibility and operability of data connections, flows, and storage requirements.
Possible rotation placements include but not limited to Production Engineering, Cyber Security, Data & Analytics, and Ad Sales. Rotation locations can be in NY, CA, CT, NJ, FL, CO. As you rotate, you’ll learn backend engineering, machine learning and artificial intelligence, AWS, data visualization, Scala, Azure, and more.

- Media-focused – Prior exposure to the media industry through internships or work experience
- Intellectually Curious – Deep hunger to learn and grow and a willingness to experiment to learn

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Respect and promote inclusion & diversity
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in technical field (electrical engineering, computer science, or related major/minor)
