Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) has an outstanding opportunity for you to join a diverse team and build novel solutions in emerging technological areas for US defense and intelligence communities. We want you to apply if you have experience in software development and would like to work in any of the following areas: using Graphics Processor Units (GPUs) for algorithm prototyping, experimentation, and demonstration; training machine learning models using GPUs, and data management and analysis. You will be working on developing and evaluating prototype systems that process sensor data to solve multi-disciplinary problems. This may include building pipelines that train and run Machine Learning models on imagery and 3D spatial data from many different sources, including satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, ground vehicles, human-wearables, smart devices, and other systems. You will gain expertise in developing solutions using desktop, cloud, and edge computing platforms as well as GPUs, and modern tools for traditional Machine Learning. Other responsibilities may include assisting in the preparation of oral and written reports, supporting R&D business acquisition and customer briefings, presenting research results at scientific / engineering conferences, and publish in technical journals.

Junior Research Scientist – Interest in GPU Computation Required Experience & Skills:
- US Citizenship (applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information)
- Bachelor of Science degree or above in a related discipline (computer science, mathematics, physics, robotics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, etc.) and 2+ years of experience involving GPUs
- Strong foundation in software development
- Proficiency in one of the following areas: mathematics, physics, computer vision, machine learning, signal processing, or optimization with 2+ years relevant work experience
Junior Research Scientist – Interest in GPU Computation Desirable Experience & Skills:
