Job Summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an intern to work directly with our Supply Chain team in the Gas Distribution group. The position works with supply chain professionals, internal customers and suppliers to provide strategic solutions for our company. The successful candidate should be in pursuit of a relevant degree, and will be exposed to sourcing of contracts and purchase orders associated with corporate categories such as High Pressure projects, Intermediate High Pressure (IHP) projects, Installations, maintenance, and replacement of existing natural gas pipelines sourcing functions within the Supply Chain organization supporting the entire Dominion Energy footprint.

 Candidates will have the opportunity participate in teams to support requests for services and materials from business units throughout Dominion Energy with a focus on cost, quality and sustainability in accordance with Dominion policies and procedures. In addition to processing requests, interns will be expected to perform spend analyses and interact with internal customers and subject matter experts to obtain desired results. Exposure to all levels of the business will be included as part of this full-time summer internship, including some day travel to visit Dominion facilities.

 The ideal candidate should anticipate graduation between Winter 2022 and Spring of 2023. This internship offers a unique opportunity for a student local to the area to work part-time in Dominion Supply Chain during the academic year, and full time during the summer months.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of statistics/business analytics

Knowledge of business principles

Understanding of supply chain processes

General knowledge of materials management and forecasting

General understanding of risk management principles

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Students must be:

Able to work on site 40 hours per week during the summer of 2022

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5; GPA’s of 3.0 or above strongly preferred.

Prefer students to have foundational courses in Supply Chain, Accounting, Economics, Business and Calculus

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Excel and Power Point

Understanding of negotiation principles

Value/cost analysis

Knowledge of SAP ERP preferred.

Sound business judgment

Comprehensive analytical abilities applicable to diverse issues

Capable of managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines

Anticipate, understand and respond to customer needs.

Education Requirements

  • Must be a full-time student at a 4-year college currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a related field.
  • Students concentrating or majoring in Supply Chain Management and Analytics are strongly preferred.
  • GPA’s of 3.0 or greater are strongly preferred.
  • Must have an anticipated graduation date between December 2022 and May 2023.
