Intern Position Purpose: The intern will complete two rotations across Grains and International business lines, adding value to FMS’s growing business lines and also to gauge their career interest in FMS. Interns who perform well can receive an offer of full-time employment to join our FMS Analyst Program the following year. Upon joining the full-time analyst program, he or she may continue to rotate across different business lines learning nuances of energy, metals, and agricultural markets and how those commodities are traded, moved and financed. Analysts are initially responsible for trade entry, risk reporting, and general trade assistance. To excel within the organization, employees will need to be highly analytical and apply quantitative reasoning to think about commodity valuation and risk management. Additionally, as a part of a new and growing business, employees will have to learn to communicate effectively within the organization and with customers. Responsibilities may vary widely depending on rotation availability and the candidate’s aptitude.
Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities may include:
- Grain Licensing Regulations review & process improvement project
- Grain Checkoff Program execution & process improvement project
- Trade entry, reporting and monitoring
- Trade settlement activities
- International trade documentation
- International freight logistics and customs coordination
- Market analysis and business opportunity studies
- Other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Intellectual curiosity
- Proven analytical skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or greater.
Physical requirements/Working conditions:
