Sr. Finance Analyst Job Description Summary

At a senior level, manages the financial record keeping, reporting, tax filing, and other accounting functions for the organization. Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed; working closely with internal auditors, public accountants, federal tax examiners, and other financial professionals; ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization. Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the accounting staff, and providing for their professional development; analyzing and solving accounting problems. Preparing or leading preparation of reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and expected operations. Producing accurate and timely financial reports, for internal and external use, in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Job Description

Assist in maintaining the financial integrity of the plant

Assist in the timeliness and accuracy of monthly financial

closings

Perform extensive variance analysis for monthly and YTD performance

Monthly profit forecasts

Significant interaction with plant and corporate personnel

of all levels

Coordination and preparation of annual plant operating budget

Aid in the Development of Five Year Strategic Plan

Function as Plant Finance Manager in his absence

Provide and develop timely, useful reports to assist plant

management with plant operations

Understand Oracle costing capabilities and develop annual costing rates

Support Corporate Finance reporting requirements

Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures and develop new policies and procedures on an as needed basis

Assist in coordination of physical inventories

Provide analysis and support to manufacturing on an as

needed basis

Work with internal and external audit to ensure financial integrity

Prepare, review, and/or analyze cost requests and

make/buy models

Required Skills and Education

Strong system and PC skills

High level of independent judgment and thought

Strong interpersonal skills

Self directed and self motivated

Good oral and written communication skills

High level of analytical and problem solving ability where problems are unusual and complex

Knowledge of budgeting, costing, and reporting systems

Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures

5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

College degree in Accounting / Finance

MBA preferred
