As the Data & Analytics Intern, you will be responsible for establishing and executing the standard operating procedures for USGBC data & analytics. This will entail documentation of onboarding and offboarding procedures and data flows, as well as compilation and maintenance of a data dictionary. It will also involve data validation efforts, writing Python scripts and developing compelling and reliable data visualizations and dashboards. This work will provide the executive office with key visibility into organizational progress and KPIs and directly support the office of the CEO’s global market development efforts. You will work in Power BI to ensure that all data is presented clearly, simply and intuitively. You will collaborate with the VP of Global Market Development on a broad range of organizational projects and initiatives. You will take initiative, think strategically, work well independently and collaborate with teams. You should have a proven ability to take initiative, prioritize competing demands, meet short deadlines and deliver high quality work products.What you’ll be doing: · Cross-reference data and generate control reports to validate accuracy· Create and edit effective and efficient Python scripts· Development of data visualizations in Excel and Power BI· Analysis of core organizational data and extraction of strategic insights· Presenting findings to key players in a concise and actionable format What you need to bring: · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or extensive exposure to programming and data science in a professional or academic setting· Experience in MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle SQL, MS SQL, or similar· Prior academic or professional experience in Data Analytics role· Excellent technical and analytical skills· Ability to simplify and present complex findings to an audience· Accountability· Commitment & Drive· Desire for continued learning· Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, TIBCO Spotfire, or similar BI tool· Experience with one or more scripting languages, such as Python, R, or SAS Other things we’d like you to bring: · Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Data Science & Analytics or related field
