The successful candidate should ideally come from a solid research background in Chemical Engineering or Organic Chemistry with strong competencies in programming and machine-learning algorithms. Job Location: Shanghai, ChinaResponsibilitiesTranslate R&D and manufacturing problems into data science problems. Work closely with frontline lab and manufacturing leaders to design and develop algorithms and models in technical areas of practice such as chemical engineering;Translate business problems into data science problems. Continuously improve core algorithms and models along with the use case scenarios. Areas of application include but not limited to business intelligence，chemical process simulation, etc.Build up the data science and machine learning team to support the urging business need in the fast-growing environment and to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the business processes.Follow the most recent advances in the AI community and learn to improve our existing solutions accordingly.QualificationsPhD in Chemical Engineering or Organic Chemistry with 0-1 years of working experience, or Master’s in Computer Science or Software Engineering with 3+ years of working experience in pharmaceutical or chemical industries;A solid understanding of major machine learning algorithms, including classic machine learning and deep learning;Deep knowledge about at least one major deep learning framework (TensorFlow / PyTorch etc.);A strong computer science foundation and proven programming skills in Java, Python and R;Competent implementation skills and abilities to deliver Proof of Concept along with agile development process;Good communication skills and team work spirits, upright working attitude and special attention to high quality;Eager to innovate; passion in up-to-date research advances in the AI community; a problem solver.Other Desired Experience (one or more of the below would be a plus):Experience in deployment, hosting and industrial operation of machine learning models;Experience in model compression, pruning, quantization, distilling, etc.Experience in leading and managing a data science team. Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled Join our Talent Community so we can keep you informed about upcoming events and opportunities that match your interests.https://careers-wuxiapptec.icims.com/connect
