The candidate will be joining the research team at Bayview Asset Management, which develops and implements statistical models for the valuation of mortgage and consumer loans. This role will be to develop, maintain, and enhance the various databases used to monitor the performance of mortgage and consumer loans, to improve the data pipelines for efficient uploading and downloading of data, to clean the data for use by the research and trading teams, and to help automate reporting and data visualization.

• Initial projects will include:
• Improve/maintain/create various data loading/data cleaning packages to ensure data integrity and speed
• Integrate data from multiple sources to meet business requirements
• Develop reporting and data visualization suites
• Ad hoc data analysis/data query projects
• Collaborate with Modelers and Business Units to achieve project goals
• Longer term projects may include:
• Automated data mining              

• Demonstrated Expertise with Relational Database Structures and Excellent SQL skills
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
• Strong quantitative skills and a high aptitude for problem solving
• Expertise in data visualization using Tableau or Power BI or similar
• A passion for working with data

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Hard Science (advanced degree a plus)
• 2-5 Years in a Similar Position
• Some experience working with Credit Bureau Data
• Familiarity with APIs
• Experience working with:
• Fintech platforms
• Application data from third-party lenders remitting information in real-time
• Adverse action reasons from the statistical model for declined applicants
