Data Analyst Position Overview:Responsible for managing workflow and executing tasks involving gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from large and complex datasets. Also, responsible for clearly defining objectives, recommending analysis and statistical methodologies, and identifying appropriate data visualization formats for a given set of data.  Essential Roles and Responsibilities:·      Research new methods for analysis of large-scale data·      Determine best methodology to apply for a given analysis project·      Create effective and appropriate data visualization via charts, graphs, and other formats·      Manage time across projects and tasks appropriately·      Deliver concise and timely analysis, visualizations, and technical write-up ·      Gather and analyze data to develop presentations, reports, and recommendations ·      Communicate effectively with internal and external team members and clients·      Ability to acquire, manage, and integrate data from primary and secondary sources·      Clean and organized coding and scripting practices ·      Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data ·      Contributing to written reports and relevant business development tasks Required Skills:·      Excellent communication skills, especially writing and presentation skills ·      Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently ·      Strong analytic, listening, and communications skills·      Proactive, adaptable to change with the ability to envision the final work product ·      Excellent problem-solving skills and time management skills·      Developing data visualization in multiple formats ·      Competency in interpreting results and developing reports ·      Proven track record of proficiency in advanced applications of Microsoft Excel ·      Experience in the statistical programming language Python ·      Experience in data mining and/or data wrangling·      Ability to fit statistical and predictive models   Desired Skills:·      Familiarity with AWS services and tools ·      Fluency in other programming languages such as R, SAS, and SQL ·      Familiarity with data security protocols & training; especially when dealing with government and data Experience:·      A minimum of 2-5 years of data analysis, visualization, interpretation, and project management Education:·      Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or similar areas of study)·      Master’s Degree desired Background/Security:      •     U.S. citizenship requiredLocation:      •     Virtual and greater Washington regionJob Type:       •    Full time Strategic Results: In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting Strategic Results mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments, the guiding principles of our culture.
