Based in Washington DC and with offices in New York City and Tampa, HarrisX runs the Mobile Insights (wireless focused) and Total Communication Surveys (TV/broadband/voice focused) and an array of other connected consumer surveys resulting in the largest syndicated TMT-focused consumer trackers in the U.S. Across its products, HarrisX’s gathers data from nearly 100,000 monthly respondents. HarrisX also studies mobile behaviors through its Telephia.io behavioral data application, which captures actual smartphone usage data. More recently, HarrisX launched the Covid-19 TMT Dashboard, which tracks the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on consumer sentiment and attitudes around the TMT space.
We are looking for smart and motivated students to join us for the Summer and work alongside our talented analysts. As a member of the team, you will be assisting in report writing, data analysis and client communication, among other things. Additionally, you will be developing research to assist in the way that HarrisX, and its clients, look at the tech/telecom industry. This opportunity will allow you to learn from and work with some of the top leaders in the industry driving innovation, change, and growth.
The perfect candidates will have strong analytical, written and communication skills. Experience in data analysis is preferred — experience gained in the classroom and through personal application will be accepted. Interns will gain valuable experience working at a boutique market research startup with high-profile clients, and learn skills/programs such as SPSS, survey writing/design, and telling a story with data.
- Help with data analysis through programs such as SPSS, R and Tableau
- Help with report writing and deck creation
- Develop communications (client and internal)
- Develop research in the TMT space
- Help with product update materials – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Proofread and quality check deliverables
- Ad hoc analyses
Applicants should have excellent analytical and math skills, with the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment. A strict attention to detail and the ability to work in teams is a must. We are ideally looking for students majoring in Economics / Computer Science / Mathematics / Analytics / Marketing / Statistics. Other majors will be considered based upon the overall strength of the candidate.
