The job is the entry-level position in the firm. The Compensation Analyst supports a wide variety of client consulting projects, including the development of base pay plans, executive compensation, incentive programs and performance management. Job functions include, but are not limited to:•    Compiling and analyzing labor market data in Excel using published surveys•    Analyzing job descriptions•    Developing presentations and visual aids•    Applying data to develop recommendations under consultant direction•    Communicating with clients, via phone and email•    Writing reports, proposals, and letters of agreement•    Attending client meetings with consultantsJob Qualifications: Working in a professional management consulting firm requires both high-level written and verbal communication skills and advanced quantitative skills, including:Ability to organize complex information, utilize Internet resources and work independentlyOutstanding written and verbal English language competenciesAdvanced Excel skills and basic computer programming abilitySolid ability to apply statistical analysis toolsWillingness to perform both administrative and professional-level assignmentsRequires B.A./B.S. degree in economics, mathematics, business or a social science, preferably from top tier university.The location is the Walnut Creek, CA office of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Human Resources & Compensation Consulting Practice (HRCC).
