Remote Work is available with only 1-2 days per month of physical presence in the office required. When physical presence is required, employees are responsible for travel expenses to their office site. Additional Hybrid Telework and Alternative Work Week Schedules are also available.

Under the administrative direction of Chief Technology Officer, the Information Technology Specialist (ITS) III Chief Enterprise Technical Architect (CETA) is responsible for providing the strategic and technical leadership, direction, training, and coordination in the implementation and architecting of the most complex technology systems. The incumbent performs a wide variety of tasks requiring innovative problem-solving where guidance is not readily available. The incumbent optimizes and applies architecture solutions for the benefit of the overall organization. Provides expert level advice to management on information technology strategy and policy within the organization. The incumbent will typically work in the Software Engineering and System Engineering domains.

The incumbent serves on HCAI’s Enterprise Architecture Board. The Technical Architect implements, maintains, and updates infrastructure components related to the Health Payments Data (HPD) System. The architect also consults with the HPD team on improvements to various aspects of the system. The incumbent is also responsible for reviewing proposed Software, Platform, and Infrastructure as a Service offerings. The Technical Architect coordinates the IT change management process and the Change Advisory Board. The incumbent works closely with OSHPD’s Portfolio Officer and Solutions Architect in planning, designing, developing, and implementing technology solutions.

Do you have the following education or experience?

One year of experience as an Information Technology Specialist II; or

Six years of information technology experience, two years of which shall include performance of highly specialized work in a lead or expert capacity on highly complex or specialized information technology systems or services in one or more of the major six domains or a closely related or emerging information technology field.

A master’s or doctorate degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for four years of the required general information technology experience. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for three years of the required general information technology experience. An associate’s degree from an accredited college may substitute for one year of the required general information technology experience. Only one degree may be used for substitution.

When using education to meet minimum qualifications, education must include 15 semester units (or 22.5 quarter units) of information technology or closely related course work.
