NBCUniversal’s Early Career programs are the perfect way to gain experience while learning what a career at NBCUniversal might have in store for you. Games of the XXIV Olympiad will take place in Winter 2022 in Beijing, China. A select number of candidates will have the opportunity to work at the NBC Sports Group facility in Stamford, CT. Travel & accommodations may be provided by NBCUniversal for his/her/their assignment depending on location. Most assignments will last approximately 3-6 weeks between January and March 2022. Deadline: Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by September 10, 2021 Assignments during the 2022 Beijing Olympics may include (but are not limited to): Production Assistants Responsibilities may include script running for studio shows or assisting sport producers with footage needs, transcribing, and basic researchCandidates must be self-starters, proficient with computers, and have knowledge of sportsPosition requires accuracy, promptness, and patienceDigital Production AssistantsAssist in the production of 100+ daily live streams and 300+ daily video highlights & features from every Olympic sport and event, for publication on NBC’s digital platforms, which include NBCOlympics.com, the NBC Sports app, social media channels, connected television apps (Roku, Apple TV, Xfinity, etc.), and other outlets like Taxicabs, sidewalk kiosks, etc. Responsibilities may include:Monitoring and logging all live Olympic competitions (NBC Olympics covers every event live in all 41 sports)Identifying key moments and assembling shot lists for highlight packages, features, and social media postingAdding chapter markers (to aid in navigation) and commercial insertion points into live streamsOrganizing and cataloguing top shots of each day for “best of” compilation packages Preferred skills/experience:Knowledge of/experience in Winter Olympic sportsVideo editing experience in either Avid, Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro or similar non-linear editing systemDetail-oriented and able to work in a busy, live production environment Digital Editorial AssociatesResponsibilities:Assist with day-to-day content creation, publishing and management on NBCOlympics.com and in the NBC Sports appReal-time monitoring of live events during shifts, keeping an eye out for newsworthy momentsAssist with headline writing and tagging of written and video contentAssist with titling and metadata management of live streams on multiple digital platformsPreferred skills / experience:Knowledge of sports and internet culture with a passion for the OlympicsExperience publishing content in a content management systemSome experience in Adobe Photoshop (at minimum, comfort cropping and re-sizing photos)Familiarity with AP style and SEO techniquesStrong attention to detail and ability to work well on deadline LoggersResponsible for logging events as they happen, as well as logging tapes from various feature shootsCandidates must be proficient with computers and have knowledge of sportsPosition requires accuracy, excellent typing skills, and patience RunnersResponsibilities include clerical and administrative tasks, production support and running errands.
