Your Role:

As an Associate Production Scientist at MilliporeSigma you will evaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department. This role will work with human source material, such as human blood and human plasma.

 

  • Complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet target dates
  • Safely process human-source material while follow biosafety guidelines
  • Perform multi-disciplined, established processes, assays and/or unit operations
  • Accurately perform procedures independently
  • Communicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisor
  • Safely perform operations to meet quality expectations
  • Ensure quality throughout the process
  • Provide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines
  • Perform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediates
  • Perform routine troubleshooting with assistance from lab subject matter experts
  • Participate in process improvements under the guidance of a supervisor or subject matter experts
  • Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions
  • Assure you are adequately trained to perform tasks/assignments
  • Clean-up equipment and working areas during and after operations
  • Contribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal)
  • Ensure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely as required by current procedures
  • Interact with other departments
  • Participate in quality audits

 

 

Physical Attributes:

  • Wear personal protective equipment such as respirator or chemical protective clothing for extended periods
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 80 pounds individually

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or other life science field

  • Independent lab research
  • Knowledge in chemistry or biochemistry, math and general science
  • Familiar with laboratory instruments and production equipment
