Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, the incumbent independently performs the more complex analytical and technical work associated with health and safety matters. Must possess good judgement, strong analytic, writing, and organizational skills; effectively communicate across all disciplines to train and guide staff and management; be self-motivated to ensure goals are met and assignments are completed timely.

Develops, administers, and evaluates the Department’s health and safety, wellness, emergency response, and continuity plan. Responsible for maintaining the effectiveness of the Department’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program and developing emergency preparedness and business continuity plans, training, and exercises. Be innovative to establish new and different events and activities to promote employee health and wellness; and actively research and continuously enhance Departmental procedures and policies.

Education

The following education is required when general experience is used to qualify at any level: equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)   AND

Either I

Experience: One year of experience performing the duties of a Staff Services Analyst, Range C. or

Or II

Experience: Three years of professional analytical experience performing duties in one or a combination of the following or closely related areas: budgeting, management analysis, personnel, planning, program evaluation, or policy analysis.
