Internship Description

Matrix Sensors, Inc. is seeking an independent, motivated individual to bring on to our engineering team full-time for the summer with the possibility of extending into the subsequent school year. This intern would report directly to the VP Engineering at our San Diego, CA facility.

Specific responsibilities may include:

·        Assist in the development of mathematical models for sensors

·        Perform sensor testing and analyze results

·        Write scripts in Python for data analysis and model fitting

·        Routine workup of sensor test data

·        Developing automated data processing scripts

·        Documenting and testing new software applications

·        Collaborating with engineers and scientists on other projects as-needed

Desired skills include:

·        Python (required), C (desired),LabVIEW and/or Mathematica would be bonuses

·        Optimizing algorithms for speed and/or memory usage

·        Software test and debugging skills

·        Self-motivated and results-oriented

·        Great attention to detail

·        Proactive problem-solving

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·        Robotics skills and experience would translate well to this position

Qualifications:

·        Must have completed junior year

·        Major in Physics, Chemistry, or an engineering field with physics courses

·        Must be able to commit full-time hours for the summer

·        Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
