Basic Purpose:
Provide support to the Global Relationship Management team on strategic accounts. Assist in promoting the distribution of the MSIM & Eaton Vance product lines throughout the respective client organizations.
The Investment Management Internship Program consists of one week of comprehensive training and nine weeks working on the Global Relationship Management team within the Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) division. The training curriculum is designed to equip Interns with the fundamental skills they need to understand the MSIM business and be successful in any role across the division. The Global Relationship Management (GRM) internship is an exciting opportunity to explore career opportunities on the sales side of MSIM while learning valuable skills at the desk.
Primary Responsibilities:
Investment Product
- Work with Business Support team to provide assistance to Global Relationship Managers to help execute product opportunities and coordinate distribution efforts at key strategic account firms
- Assist GRM in coordinating new fund and SMA launches/set-up at brokerage firms
Marketing
- Assist with the development and execution of targeted channel marketing campaigns and mailings
- Collaborate with the team to create PowerPoint presentations both internally and externally
Communication
- Understand, coordinate and help effectively communicate distribution capabilities to help drive sales
- Communicate with internal and external sales team any marketing campaigns to promote sales
- Establish excellent communication across functional areas of the firm— including sales, investment teams, marketing, product, operations/client service, and legal/compliance teams—to ensure seamless execution of business requests
Analysis
- Maintain team pipeline information in firm CRM systems and prepare client activity reports for senior management
- Convert PDFs into spreadsheets for client analyses
- Provide analyses from multiple investment teams
- Pull account and performance data from propriety software
- Work on ad hoc projects for GRM
- General administrative tasks
Qualifications and Skills:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with expected graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024
- Concentration in finance, business or marketing preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Entrepreneurial with a high degree of professionalism
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Works well under pressure while managing multiple responsibilities
- Demonstrated success in taking initiative and delivering immediate and independent action to solve business problems
- Commitment to a team-oriented environment and a willingness to openly share ideas and leverage the expertise of others in order to generate new ideas
