SUMMARY The settlement professional’s primary focus is to ensure that accurate and timely information is available for management and clients. This results in the stable, reliable and efficient operation of complex settlement and related accounting processes. The successful individual will support the organization through in-depth data analysis, reconciliations, reporting and invoicing. The candidate must understand and apply communication, analytical, business acumen, and problem-solving skills to help identity, communicate, and resolve transactional, market, and general ledger discrepancies. Except for entry level applicants, the individual must possess a basic understanding of accounting principles, energy markets, and bilateral and/or RTO/ISO settlement. Other duties may be assigned.Provides accurate and timely billing, analysis, and reporting servicesDevelops solid understanding of settlement and accounting practices and principlesAsks questions and provide reliable and efficient customer serviceContributes to and performs the development and design of new processes and proceduresOperational ManagementOwns the accuracy of settlement processes, monthly counterparty invoices, and client reportingMaintains Settlement procedures and documentationGenerates and implements process efficienciesPlays a support role for internal and external auditsTeach & ReachShares knowledge with other Settlement AnalystsInitiates learning opportunities with internal departments to expand knowledge baseUnderstands natural gas, bilateral power, and RTO/ISO marketsMasters available technological resources to conduct settlement related dutiesBuilding PartnershipsWorks collaboratively with Settlement and other departments within TEABuilds trust with TEA’s Members and PartnersCaters communication to audience confidently and effectivelyEngages actively in meetingsRemains current on energy market changes and Client changesQUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, or other appropriate degree; 2+ years of relevant industry or accounting experience; advanced degree is a plus.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES All Microsoft Office tools and web browsers. The ability to manage multiple projects, change priorities and be action-oriented. Ability to adapt to dedicated computer systems.COMPETENCIES REQUIREDThe ideal candidate will have the following competencies:AdaptabilityCommitment to Continuous LearningExceptional Work StandardsAbility to Build TrustVALUES REQUIREDThe ideal candidate will have the following values:Customer FocusExcellenceOwnershipIntegrityTeamwork
