We are looking for Associate Interns to support our Research team. Our Research group is a collaborative, intellectually rigorous team responsible for coming up with investment ideas, codifying those ideas into signals, back-testing the signals, and producing return and risk forecasts based on the signals to drive trading decisions.ResponsibilitiesWe utilize a team approach to investment management. Our Associate Interns are immersed in our research effort, working side-by-side with members of the Research team. Our intern program combines theory, practice and technology and provides significant insights into quantitative investment management. Intern projects may involve applied math, finance, optimization theory and computer programming. Typical responsibilities include:Merging, structuring, and analyzing large amounts of data from various sourcesAssessing quality of historical panel data, diagnosing deficiencies and prescribing fixesPerforming ad-hoc exploratory statistics and analysis on research data setsWriting and maintaining code that supports the investment research processResearching predictable patterns in asset returns, risks, and trading costsQualificationsEnrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree from a top educational institution in a technical field, such as applied mathematics, economics, engineering or computer science. Expected degree completion within a year of the internshipExcellent academic recordStrong analytical, quantitative, programming and problem solving skillsUnderstanding of probability, statistics, linear regression, and time-series analysisExperience with a statistical computing environment or programming language such as STATA, R, MATLAB, or PythonExperience analyzing large data setsInterest in financial marketsExcellent communication skillsHigh energy and strong work ethicWe maintain a friendly, team-oriented environment and place a high value on professionalism, attitude, and initiative.
