While our primary focus is on serving US Government customers, we are pursuing commercial applications as well.Job Description:Conduct research to apply optimization techniques on real world applicationsWork with a multi-disciplinary team to solve problemsPosition may involve travel to customer meetings and/or data collections and experimentsBasic Qualifications:PhD, MS, or BS degree with relevant experience in electrical engineering, mathematics, operations research, or related technical disciplineSolid mathematical and analytical skillsExpertise in modern optimization theoryFamiliarity with convex optimization, combinatorial optimization, and approximate methodsAbility to conduct survey literature to determine state-of-the-art, incorporate recent research and apply to current problemStrong Matlab (or similar scientific computing) programming skillsStrong communication skills and the ability to describe complex technical concepts to fellow researchers as well as to non-technical peopleAbility to obtain a security clearance (US Citizen)STR seeks to provide an outstanding work environment for its employees with excellent benefits and competitive compensation.
