Cirrus Logic’s Algorithm & Data Engineering groups are looking for a hardworking Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics interns to work with us at our machine learning center of excellence where we apply expertise in deep learning, signal processing, and algorithm design to solve communications, biometric identification, speech recognition, and audio related problems. Our mission is to create advanced computing and signal processing technologies that enhance the end-user experience for top global consumer electronics brands.Our projects make extensive use of high-dimensional audio and biometric datasets relevant to creating intelligent edge-computing and signal processing products.Responsibilites: Building, supporting and enhancing the high-performance data infrastructure relied upon by our data scientists and machine learning engineers.Creating scalable pipelines and workflows for data ingestion, data curation, model testing, performance analysis, and data exploration using agile, iterative processes.Assisting in the design and implementation of custom hardware/software platforms for large-scale, mobile real-world data acquisition.Building and maintaining tools and workflows to support robust, reproducible engineering research, including experiment management, model tracking, and automated testing and reporting.Required Skills and Qualifications:High proficiency with UNIX, Linux, and shell scripting; Python, JavaScript, and JSON.Advanced undergraduate and/or graduate-level coursework in several of: scientific computing, database systems, parallel programming/distributed computing, computer networks, data mining, algorithm analysis, machine learning, data science/data visualization.Fluency using the tools of the data engineering trade: SQL and NoSQL databases; Docker, Kubernetes; Spark, Dask, Hive, Hadoop.Experience converting academic papers and ideas into software implementations.Web development experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Experience with web-based data-driven visualization tools such as D3.js, Spotfire, Tableau.Experience with parallel/distributed computing.Programming experience in MATLAB, Java and/or C.Solid understanding of algorithm performance analysis.Knowledge of statistics.Familiarity with toolsets for data analysis (Jupyter, pandas, R) and experiment management (BOB, sacred).Knowledge of acoustics and/or audio-related speech- and signal processing.Experience with Windows and Mac OS programming environments.This opportunity is available for a long semester only, summer only or summer + a long semester. It is available only to students currently enrolled in a MS or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Applied Mathematics (or closely related fields) maintaining a GPA of 3.6 or above, and who will be returning to school for at least one semester after completing his/her internship.
