THE DUTIES OF THIS POSITION ARE SIMILAR TO INSPECTIONS AND EVALUATIONS ANALYSTS typically included in a 0343 or 0347 series outside of the Intelligence Community.This position is located in Washington, D.C. and is with the Office of the Inspector General. This position is responsible for performing the following duties:The incumbent is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities under supervision:Contributes as a team member responsible for the design, execution, and final product production (usually written) of compliance and systemic inspections, evaluations, and special studies. Acquires basic technical knowledge in the conduct of program inspections and evaluations.With supervision, designs and conducts analysis of complex data to identify areas for improved efficacy or effectiveness of Agency operations. These analyses may employ qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods of analysis.Assesses evidence to determine sufficiency and appropriateness of methodologies applied. Develops written products that accurately and objectively represent underlying evidence, including qualitative and quantitative analyses.Develops documentation in evaluation files that demonstrates sufficiency of evidence and methodologies in accordance with established guidelines and oversight community best practices. With guidance, develops report recommendations that identify substantive ways to improve the efficiency and/or effectiveness of agency operations and helps to determine when the Agency has completed actions that fully implement recommendations.Demonstrates basic knowledge of defense intelligence matters. Contributes to preparation of briefings and meetings to provide advice and assistance. Continues to develop professional judgement and technical skill in the conduct of inspections and evaluations and subject matter expertise in defense intelligence matters.Promotes effective working relationships with senior Agency management officials; coordinates Agency inspections with officials from the Department of Defense OIG, Government Accountability Office, and other inspection entities.Refers cases involving any fraud, waste, abuse, malfeasance or misfeasance, collusion or violations of law to the appropriate officials immediately. Provides staff resources to support other OIG efforts as needed including inspections, audits, investigations, intelligence oversight, or other headquarters’ activities.Performs other duties as assigned.
