Be a part of our mission to protect human health and the quality of Idaho’s air, land, and water! The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is hiring a grants and loans coordinator for our State Office. This position makes routine decisions regarding the completeness and adequacy of loan applications and makes funding recommendations to management for individual projects.Example of Duties:Serve as primary point of contact for loans.Process loan applications to include evaluating the sufficiency of the applications and resolving discrepancies.Provide oversight of loans, including loan payments and close outs. Coordinate with fiscal staff and the bureau chief on delinquent loans and follow- up with borrowers.Provide assistance and direction to regional staff to facilitate proper administration of loans, assuring adequacy of sustainability, wage determinations, and contractual special provisions completion monitoring. Develop or maintain loan materials such as handbooks, forms, guidance, and web materials.Participate in all audits.Provide second-level reviews for the planning grants program as well as multiple databases.Ensure timely and accurate reporting.Assist the loan officer with processing new and amended loans.Minimum Qualifications:Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in the physical or biological sciences, Political Science, Business or Public Administration, Engineering, or related natural resources management field OR Education and/or experience equivalent to a typical four (4) year Bachelor’s degree. For example: Successful completion of sixty (60) semester hours of study, including twenty-four (24) semester hours in a subject required for the specific discipline, is equivalent to two (2) years of undergraduate education; and/or experience performing routine duties such as planning, research, regulatory development and/or implementation of components of environmental programs or media for at least two (2) years can substitute for one (1) year of college. AND At least six (6) years of professional experience providing management, technical assistance, resource allocation, and policy interpretation to staff, special interest groups and the public.
