Additionally, the  Database Administrator provides specific 3rd tier support for database systems.Essential Position Functions:Proactively monitors and maintains the availability of the database systems within the enterprise.Provides the troubleshooting and resolution of 3rd tier support issues.Analyzes performance of stored procedures, queries and system configuration and takes action to correct deficiencies.Develops, tests, documents, implements and supports high quality solutions, on time that perform according to specifications and requirements documents.Develops and adheres to standards to sustain the availability, reliability and supportability of the systems.Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced.Participates in all systems development lifecycle stages including architecture specifications and design; application configuration; database design; programming; quality assurance; testing and implementation; and ongoing maintenance and support.Works with IT counterparts and management team to employ analysis and design techniques including case analysis, object modeling and database/application scheme design to ensure business goals.Provides status report updates for current projects.Participates in rotating on-call schedule for 24 x 7 x 365 support.Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others.All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established. (These essential functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Employees will be required to perform other job related duties as required.)Minimum Requirements:Education/Licensure/Certification:Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceMCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) in Database Administration, preferredMySQL Database Administrator, preferredExperience:Three (3) years’ Relational Database Management SystemsThree (3) years’ developing enterprise-wide database solutionsThree (3) years’ with Microsoft operating systemsThree (3) years’ developing and delivering custom database systems solutions in an enterprise environmentThree (3) years’ Data Warehouse or Data Analytics, preferredThree (3) years’ Linux operating systems, preferredThree (3) years’ Script Development, preferredVersion Control Systems such as Git, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, or other comparable systemsDatabase tools and development environments such as Visual Studio Code, Azure Data Studio, RedGate SQL Toolbelt, Microsoft Visual Studio with SQL Server Data ToolsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of current and future technology solutions for the Internet, hand held devices, personal computers and networks.Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices including change management, effective error handling and performance instrumentation.Knowledge of advanced RDMS concepts such as replication mirroring, clustered technology, and partitioning.Skill in effective verbal and written communication.Ability to develop and optimize T-SQL statements, stored procedures, database schema, Microsoft SQL Reporting Services Reports and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Packages.Ability to take initiative, exercise good judgment and exhibit business savvy orientation.Ability to demonstrate excellent conceptual, analytical, and judgment abilities.Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:Frequency of travel: Occasional travel is required for meetings, trainings and conferences; location may vary and may require overnight staysLight physical activities and efforts required working in an office environment(Reasonable accommodations will be made in accordance with existing ADA requirements for otherwise qualified individuals with a disability.)
