Job SummaryThe Data Research Associate will support data administration and management by collecting, cleaning, and managing data, and assisting in data analysis. This position may also include conducting other various supportive tasks such as: literature reviews, aiding in the development of measurement tools, and supporting the development of project deliverables. The person hired for this specific opening will have the opportunity to serve as a Data Research Associate for the Nutrition Incentive Hub with funding provided by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program (GusNIP).Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork under the supervision of the Data Management Coordinator to support GusNIP reporting and evaluation.Contribute to the development of valid and reliable measurement tools including assessments, surveys, and interview guides. • Enter quantitative data into spreadsheets ensuring the appropriate data structure and security.Manage, clean, and code various datasets to ensure accuracy and utility for analysis.Assist biostatisticians in quantitative data analysis (descriptive statistics, ANOVA, regression, etc.).Communicate with GusNIP grantees to assist and expedite data transfer.Prepare quantitative measurement tools for distribution by formatting paper forms or building electronic surveys.Collect qualitative and quantitative data by conducting interviews/observations and administering surveys/assessments. This collection of primary data at various project sites may entail some travel (once COVID restrictions are lifted).Develop codebooks to ensure accurate data entry and storage.Transcribe qualitative data gathered from interviews, and prepare transcribed data for coding.Conduct qualitative (coding, theming) analysis.Support the development of deliverables, presentations, and manuscripts by participating in storyboarding sessions, writing report sections, presenting deliverables, and supporting manuscript development.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or related field.One year of experience conducting data collection and managing data for research or programmatic evaluation.Experience developing valid and reliable measurement tools such as interview guides, surveys, or assessments.Proficient in quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis.Proficient in data collection and analysis tools such as SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, NVivo, and SAS.Ability and willingness to learn new technology platform(s) as it relates to data collection and analysis (Smartsheet). • High level of attention to detail and ability to problem solve.Exceptional organizational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).SalaryCommensurate with experience.
