Javad Lavaei to receive Young Investigator Award from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research
On October 11, 2016, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research awarded 58 scientists and engineers approximately $20.8 million in grants as a part of their Young Investigator Research Program (YIP).
As one of the recipients, IEOR Assistant Professor Javad Lavaei will receive a grant from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research for his research in Efficient Mathematical Methods for the Optimization of Large and Complex Systems.
The Young Investigator Research Grant is only one of the many awards Javad Lavaei has received this year including the INFORMS ENRE Energy Best Publication Award and the Donald P. Eckman Award. The grant was awarded to only 58 proposals out of over 230 fostering creative research related to the challenges in science and engineering.
