Ikhlaq Sidhu joins Dave McClure to speak on global innovation in Qatar
Professor Ikhlaq Sidhu has been invited by the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP)to speak in their first ever QSTP technovate series. Professor Sidhu will be speaking with Dave McClure this Tuesday, October 11. Sidhu and McClure will kick off the QSTP technovate series to inspire future innovators in the global tech community at a session titled “Innovation Going Global.” This event will be hosted by Dr. Maher Hakim at the Qatar Science & Technology Park.
QSTP envisions becoming an international innovator in technology, entrepreneurship, and business. They encourage and support technology entrepreneurship ventures throughout Qatar, “incubating, funding, […] mentoring” companies by connecting them to the regional and global technology ecosystem. The QSTP technovate series was initiated to encourage learning from global tech leaders such as Prof. Sidhu and Dave McClure and to facilitate networking with distinguished speakers and fellow attendees.
Ikhlaq Sidhu is the chief scientist and founding director of UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology, a technological hub connecting Silicon Valley, the Bay Area, startups and the global tech industry. Sidhu also recently became more involved in the Qatari entrepreneurship community by joining the board of directors at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
Dave McClure is a super angel investor, focusing his investments and support in the startup business community.
