Congratulations! Your acceptance to UC Berkeley marks an exciting milestone in your academic journey, and we are delighted to welcome you to our community. We eagerly anticipate the remarkable achievements you will accomplish during your time here.

Now that you're in, it's time to start planning for your future with us. Below, you'll find essential information and next steps to help you prepare for your arrival on campus. Be sure to keep an eye out for updates on summer and fall programming, as we will provide additional details and deadlines.

Here's What You Can Do Next:

  1. Confirm your acceptance: Log in to your application status page and complete the "Reply to Offer of Admission" form to confirm your attendance. The SIR deadline is April 15.
  2. Register for important upcoming  events:
    • If you're enrolling in the Berkeley IEOR MS program, don't miss our Virtual MS Info Session on March 22, 2024.

Don't Forget To:

  1. Set up CalCentral (UC Berkeley’s student portal).
  2. Submit final, official transcripts.
  3. Submit the Statement of Legal Residence Form (SLR).
  4. Check your California residency status. If you are a domestic student, complete a FAFSA.
  5. If you are an international student, complete the Non-Immigrant Information Form (NIF).

Your Berkeley Email Account

Activate your bConnected account through your CalCentral Dashboard. This will activate your @berkeley.edu email account.

  • Log into your CalCentral using your CalNet ID
  • Look up in the left hand corner under MyDashboard
  • Follow the link to bConnected to activate your UC Berkeley email address

Regularly check both your personal email that you used on your admission application and your new campus @berkeley.edu email in order to receive information from the IEOR department and the university. 

Once the fall semester begins, we'll no longer contact you via your personal email, and we ask that you use your @berkeley.edu email to contact us. 

Keep in mind that sometimes University emails can accidentally be filtered to spam.

  • December 16-20, 2024: Fall 2024 semester final exams
  • December 20, 2024: Fall 2024 semester ends

International Students

The Berkeley International Office (BIO) supports Berkeley’s international community. If you are an international student, pay careful attention to emails from BIO. Also, make sure to contact BIO throughout your time as a student regarding changes in enrollment, your travel plans, etc.

If you are an international student, complete the important tasks here. Processing times for paperwork can be long, so start processes early and be aware of deadlines.

Heather Iwata

Meet your graduate advisor, Heather Iwata

Heather Iwata oversees IEOR’s Master of Science, Master of Engineering, Master of Analytics and PhD programs.

She holds a B.A. in Communication and Psychology from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Guidance from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Heather has nearly 20 years of experience in admissions and student affairs in higher education.

She has a love for all things Disney and enjoys a good dance party with 90's R&B, hip hop and pop music.

Erica Diffenderfer

Meet your graduate advisor, Erica Diffenderfer

Erica is originally from Savannah, Georgia. She attended Georgia Southern University, where she earned her BS in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree.

Before joining Berkeley, Erica taught secondary mathematics and also worked at the University of Florida in admissions and student affairs.

Outside of work, she takes advantage of the nice weather and scenic trails in the Bay Area by hiking, running, and camping.
