Google’s Data Scientists work on a wide range of projects and teams. During this session we’ll walk through the career paths and focus areas of several Googlers, explore our current career opportunities, and answer student questions.

The following Google data scientists will be featured at this event, and available to answer student questions:

• Weijie Shen is a senior data scientist in Google. He graduated from the statistics Ph.D. program at Penn State University and joined Google in 2015. He mainly works on time series and capacity planning problems in Search, Cloud, and Technical infrastructure. The tool his team supports is used by a wide variety of teams across Google for various forecasting projects.
• Haoyun Wu is a M.S. in IEOR 2016 graduate from UC Berkeley, currently working as a data scientist at Google with a focus on time series forecasting. She has prior experience at a Berkeley startup and Verizon Media.
• Nan Yang is an August 2019 IEOR grad from UC Berkeley, working with advisor Prof. Xin Guo. He is now working as a data scientist in the YouTube Ads Quality Bidding team.

Google will be recruiting for data scientist roles with a focus on PhD candidates.
