What is the most challenging part of your job?
Navigating through my company’s myriad structured and unstructured data sources to try to leverage them for my projects.

What was the most important thing you learned at Cal?
The true importance of teamwork. As the scope of the problem you’re working on increases, the collective effort of multiple people with different skill-sets is more fruitful and honestly, more fun than a single person burning the midnight oil.

What was your favorite IEOR class and why?
Optimization Analytics by Prof. Ilan Adler. He’s a master teacher. I remember being
crystal clear about every concept I learned. Another is Risk Modeling & Simulation by Prof. Lee Schruben. He has the most rememberable stories and personal experiences that were very relevant to what we were learning.

Do you have any advice for current IEOR students?
Don’t shy away from reaching out to alumni who are doing similar things you hope to do one day. You’ll be surprised at how helpful they are.
